Below is a list of common questions about our new High-Speed Internet offering in Silverton, Colorado. If you have other questions, please feel free to Contact Us.
What’s involved with the set-up?
Once you place an order, we need to verify your home is along a currently active route on our network.
We will then schedule with you an installation, which will involve installing a drop cable from the utility poles, and routing the cable inside your home.
Is this DSL or will you be running a line to my house?
Our service in Silverton is delivered over our own coaxial cable network. We will run a new cable drop from the utility pole in your alley to your home or business.
Coax is capable of much higher transmission speeds than telephone wire.
Does the service come from the new fiber link or the old microwave link to Silverton?
Our service in Silverton connects over fiber-optic cable directly to our network access point in Durango; from there to our regional fiber ring that connects Grand Junction, Denver, Durango, Montrose and Farmington; and from there to the Internet.
Are there differences between the 150MB and the 50MB residential service beyond what’s listed on the web page?
The only difference is the speed profile. The upstream speed on either package is 10Mbps.
Do I have to pay for a modem even if I already have one? If I have one, is configuration included as part of the set-up fee?
We will provide a Cisco cable modem; you will be responsible for a “WiFi Router” or other firewall router. We sell
How long is the $50/month price valid for?
The prices on our web site are our standard prices, not a promotional price.
Are there penalties if I cancel my service? Do you have a service contract that I can see?
All service is month to month and there is no penalty to cancel service.
Do you guarantee minimum speeds, and if so, what are they?
All speeds are “up to” the rated speed, and we cannot guarantee a particular speed to specific Internet web sites or locations.
However, we understand that the experience in Silverton traditionally has been that users get far less than they were promised, often so bad simple uses like streaming a Netflix show were impossible. Our goal is to deliver the speed you are paying us for all the time. We will carefully monitor and manage our network to ensure optimal rated performance for all users.
I believe you’re asking for $99 for installation up-front but not guaranteeing installation will happen. What determines whether or not you will move ahead with the project and when will that determination be made?
We are in the process of launching, so it is not a matter of whether we will move forward. The only issues that might prevent a successful install of a subscriber would be if it turns out our cable does not pass your home.
In the event we are unable to install to your home for some reason, we will refund your installation fee in full.
